MUSIC WORTH PRESERVING
Curated vinyl pressings for recordings that deserve to endure.
Curated vinyl pressings for recordings that deserve to endure.
There are recordings that deserve to exist in a physical library.
Vault Press curates limited edition vinyl releases for collectors who believe music is an experience.
Every release is selected for its musical significance, sonic integrity and place in a permanent collection. Source materials and pressing details are documented. Production is approached deliberately.
Every release is verifiable, with source and production information disclosed.
From mastering to packaging, each detail is approached with reference grade standards.
Vault Press releases selectively, guided by musical importance and resonance.
The record, packaging and materials are created to outlast trends.
The sleeve. The pressing. The edition number. The details are not secondary.
Vault Press was founded by Andy Curran and Harry Hess, two Canadian music veterans whose careers have been spent creating records as well as understanding what it takes to bring them to life.
That combination of artist perspective and industry experience shaped Vault Press from the beginning. They want to treat the recording with respect, understand its history and make the finished release worthy of production.
Andy Curran's career includes founding Coney Hatch and later working in A&R with Anthem Records and SRO Management. Harry Hess is best known as the frontman of Harem Scarem and has also built a substantial career in production and songwriting.
A career spanning performance, recording and artist development gives Andy a perspective that crosses both the creative and business sides of a release.
As the voice of Harem Scarem and a longtime producer and songwriter, Harry brings decades of recording experience and an artist's understanding of how music should ultimately be presented.
"We don't just sell records. We protect what music meant, and still means."
-Andy & Harry
Give the Recording the Release It Deserves
Vault Press works with artists, estates and labels to move meaningful recordings into physical releases.
From the earliest planning through manufacturing, presentation and distribution, every decision is approached with the same standard applied to the music itself. The objective is not simply to manufacture vinyl. It is to create a release with cultural, physical and collector value.
Whether the project brings unheard material out of an archive, returns an important recording to vinyl or creates a definitive limited edition, Vault Press is built to treat the recording as something worth preserving.
How Vault Press Works with Partners
We begin by understanding the recording, its history and why it deserves a physical release. Each project is considered for its musical importance, cultural relevance, source integrity and place within a carefully curated Vault Press catalogue.
Once a project is selected, we shape the release around what makes the recording significant. This includes defining the edition, determining how its story should be presented and establishing the standards the finished pressing and packaging need to meet.
Vault Press works with experienced production and pressing partners to create an edition worthy of the original recording. From source materials and mastering through pressing and packaging, each detail is approached deliberately, with an emphasis on sound, quality and longevity.
A significant recording deserves context. Every release is presented with its story, provenance, pressing specifications and edition information clearly documented, giving collectors a complete understanding of what they are acquiring and why the release matters.
The finished recording is brought to collectors as a carefully considered physical edition designed to endure. Vault Press focuses on creating releases with lasting cultural and collector value, rather than products built around a short-term release cycle.
